Freemasons Headline NYC Pride's 24th Annual Dance on the Pier
In a show of good will and not a little promotion, Gaydar being the good chaps that they are, are getting behind major gay events across the US. The gay dating megasite is sponsoring the NYC Pride debut of top UK DJ duo, Freemasons, when they headline NYC Pride's 24th Annual Dance on the Pier (June 27). Earlier this year Gaydar was a sponsor at Miami’s Winter Party Festival, which annually donates over $2 million to local and national LGBT causes.
Freemasons are Russell Small (one half the house music duo Phats & Small) and James Whiltshire (who remixes under the alias Jimmy Gomez also works with Phats & Small). That's James on the left, Russell on the right, above. Together since 2005, they're named after their favorite Brighton pub.
Freemasons are known for chart-topping original productions (the most recent was 2009’s dancefloor smash featuring Sophie Ellis-Bextor* “Heartbreak [Make Me A Dancer]”) and remixes for top pop divas including Kylie, Whitney, Solange and Beyonce.
Freemasons' latest is their storming remix of “Bittersweet,” the new single from dance chart favorite, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, which they co-wrote and produced. The original version of made its worldwide debut March 8 on, hello, GaydarRadio! Due out May 3, expect utter mayhem when these boys drop their "Bittersweet" remix on Pier 54. A new Freemasons album due late Summer/early Fall.
NYC Pride's 24th Annual Dance on the Pier takes place on Pier 54 at 13 th Street and the West Side Highway on Sunday, June 27th from 4:00 PM until 10:30 PM.
